Funeral of Mrs. Paul Cave
Formerly of Rushden
Local Families Bereaved

The funeral of Mrs. Paul Cave, widow of the late Mr. Paul Cave, of Rushden, took place on Saturday afternoon in the cemetery at Rushden. The first portion of the obsequies was conducted in St. Mary’s Church by the Rev. P. Robson who also officiated at the graveside. At the service in the Church Mr. J. E. Smith, the organist, played appropriate music including Mendelssohn’s beautiful aria “O rest in the Lord.”

The coffin was of polished oak, with brass fittings, and bore the inscription:-

EMMA CAVE
Born August 9th, 1844
Died February 15th, 1916

The principal mourners comprised Mr. W. W. Smith (brother), Mrs. Alfred Smith (sister-in-law), Miss Kate Kilsby (niece), Miss Martha Gray (maid), Mrs. Taylor (Bedford), Mr. Amos Cave (brother-in-law), Mr. Morton Cave (nephew), Mrs. John Smith (sister-in-law), Miss Wyldes, Ald. Chas. Pettit, J.P. (Harrold), and Mrs. Pettit, Mr. G. S. Mason and Alderman G. Miller, J.P., executors of the late Mr. Paul Cave.

A number of beautiful floral tributes to the deceased lady’s memory were placed on the grave, as follow:
