RushdenArgus 15th March 1940, transcribed by Susan Manton
Mr. Raymond  Arthur Campion

Mr. Raymond  Arthur Campion, who died at "Ivy House" Church-street, Rushden, on Wednesday, returned to England from Burma three  months ago on account of ill-health. He had intended to return to his work at Burma when he had recuperated, but his death occurred after a short illness.

The eldest son  of Mr and Mrs Campion of “Ivy House”, Mr Campion was aged 36 years. He went to  Burma ten years ago, being employed as a transport manager by the Burma Oil Company. Since then he had returned to his native town on two previous occasions.

The sadness of his passing has been heightened by the fact that only four days previously, before he was seriously ill, his youngest brother was married.

There are three brothers, Mr. William Ernest Campion, Mr. Horace Gilbert Campion and Mr. James Reginald Campion, and three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Kirkham, Mrs. Reta Jaques and Miss Dorothy Campion.

The funeral takes place this afternoon (Friday), when the Rev. E. E. Bromage (Wellingborough-road Mission minister) will conduct a service at the house.
