Mrs. Burton
SUDDEN DEATH
Rushden Lady Dies from Effect of Stroke

We deeply regret to record the death, which took place under painful circumstances on Tuesday morning of Mrs. Burton, wife of Mr. J. Burton, of 47, Victoria-road, Rushden. Mr. A. Abbott, who supplies the household with milk, went to the house as usual on Monday evening about five o'clock, when he heard moaning, and noticed the place was in darkness. He went inside the house, and found Mrs. Burton lying on the couch, in great pain. He summoned a neighbour, named Mrs. Lawson, and later Mr. Burton and his daughter were fetched. Dr. Davis was called in and stated that the deceased was suffering from a stroke. She did not regain consciousness, and died as stated. The husband was fetched from work about eight o'clock, but his wife had passed away before he arrived.

The deceased lady was a regular attendant at the Succoth Baptist Church, and her death will be greatly felt by the congregation.
