Obituary of Mr. John Burton of Rushden

A one time member of the Rushden Adult School Male Voice Choir, Mr. John Burton, of 15 Gordon Terrace, Higham Road, Rushden, passed away early on Wednesday morning at the age of 69 years.

Mr. Burton, who was a native of Chelveston, had been ill for about eight months and retired nearly two years ago, after being employed at the Rushden C.W.S. boot factory for thirty-one years. He was in the Adult School choir at the time Mr. T. Clarke was conductor. He leave a widow Mrs. E. Burton, two sons, Mr. T. Burton of Bedford and Mr. H. Burton of Rushden, one daughter, Miss L. Burton and two step-daughters, Mrs. Leeding and Miss May Nicols.

The funeral will take place on Saturday and the service will be conducted at the home by the Rev. T.W. Gill (minister of Park Road Baptist Church).

Funeral of Mr. J. Burton

The funeral of Mr. John Burton of 15, Gordon Terrace, Rushden took place on Saturday, the Rev. T.W. Gill conducting the service at the house.

The mourners included Mrs. E. Burton (widow), Mr. and Mrs. T. Burton, Mr. and Mrs. H. Burton (sons and daughters- in-law) Miss L. Burton (daughter), Mr. F. Burton (brother), Mrs. Leeding, Miss May Nicholls (step-daughters), Mr. A Leeding (son-in-law), Miss Brown (sister-in-law), Mrs. Sharp (niece), Mr. and Mrs. McCartney (cousin)

Messrs. A. Sanders Ltd. carried out the funeral arrangements.
