Mrs Rose Eva Burfield

Obituary—With regret we have to report the death, which occurred on Sunday morning, of Mrs Rose Eva Burfield, aged 43, wife of Mr Harry Burfield, of 44 Cromwell-road, Rushden. Deceased had suffered for five years with tuberculosis, having had to keep to her bed for periods during the greater part of that time. Mrs Burfield was born at Wymington, but had lived in Rushden for most of her life. She was a member of the Rushden Zion Chapel. Mr Burfield has a small fish and chip business, which he started about six months ago. He and the family left to mourn the loss of a fond wife and mother have the sympathy of many friends. Of the two sons and two daughters, one son, serving with the Northants in India, has been informed by cable of the death of his mother.

The funeral took place on Wednesday at the cemetery, the arrangements being made by Messrs Whittington and Tomlin. Mr Gascoigne, of Wellingborough, officiated. The mourners were Mr Burfield (husband), Chrissie Burfield (daughter), Norman Burfield (son), Mrs Dudley (sister), Mr Whiteman (father), Mrs Hales (sister), Mr W C Whiteman (brother), Mrs Scroxton (sister), Mrs W C Whiteman (sister-in-law), Miss Dudley (niece), Mrs Morris and Mrs Holyoak (sisters-in-law), Mr and Mrs T Burfield (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), Mrs R Tye (niece), and Mrs Gamble (friend). Mr Burfield desires to express his sincere thanks to the many kind friends and neighbours who have shown sympathy and kindness towards him, and especially for the practical help given this week.
