Mrs. Ann Burfield

The funeral took place at the Cemetery on Saturday of the late Mrs. Ann Burfield, who passed away suddenly last Tuesday week at 14, Oswald-road, at the age of 79 years.  The Rev. Theodore James (curate) officiated.  The coffin, of polished elm with brass fittings, bore the inscription:-

ANN BURFIELD
Died January 8th, 1918
Aged 79 years

The mourners comprised: Mrs. S. Holyoak (daughter) and Mr. T. Burfield (son), Mr. H. Burfield (son) and Mrs. T. Burfield (daughter-in-law), Mr. S. Holyoak (son-in-law) and Mrs. H. Burfield (daughter-in-law), Mrs. Ray Tye and Miss Lizzie Burfield (grand-daughters), Mr. G. Burfield and Mr. F. Burfield (grandsons). 

A number of beautiful wreaths were placed on the grave.  The late Mrs. Burfield, who had resided with her daughter, Mrs. Holyoak, for a number of years, leaves five sons and two daughters to mourn their loss.  One son is in Australia, another in New Zealand, and yet another son and a daughter are in Canada.  The late Mrs. Burfield’s husband predeceased her ten years ago.
