The funeral took place at Irthlingborough on Monday of Mrs Elizabeth Jane Brockwell, aged 87, a native of the town, whose death occurred on Friday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs F Palmer, 42, Spencer-road, Rushden.

Mrs Brockwell, who was a widow, leaves four daughters. She had lived in Rushden for eleven years.

The funeral was conducted at the Parish Church of Sty Peter, Irthlingborough, by the Rev E G Elcock, curate of St Mary’s, Finedon, and the mourners were: Mr and Mrs F Palmer (son-in-law and daughter), Mrs Gabriel, Leicester (daughter), Mrs C Sanders, Duddington (daughter), Mrs C Farrer, Irthlingborough (daughter), Mrs A Brockwell (daughter-in-law, Mrs B Childs, Bletchley (granddaughter), Mrs V Hood, Leicester (granddaughter), Mrs D Curchin, Kettering (niece) and Nurse C Neville (friend).
