Mr. Walter J. Bone
Death of Man Who Was 64 Years With Firm


Mr. Walter J. Bone, who was the works manager of H. W. Chapman Limited's factory in Cromwell Road, Rushden, for many years and had worked there all his life, died at his home 28 Newton Road, Rushden, on Monday, aged 78.

Mr. Bone worked at Chapman's for 64 years and retired three years ago. He was well known in Rushden and was a member of the Town Band Club and Athletic Club. He was a life member of the Town Band Club and had served on the committee for a period of 15 years.

Born at Newton Bromshold, he had lived in Rushden for most of his life.

When the directors of Chapman's heard of Bone's death they sent a letter to his widow, Mrs Bertha Bone, saying he had been held in high regard by those with whom he had worked over so many years. He leaves two daughters and a son, two grandsons and two sisters. The funeral service was held at the Rushden Cemetery Chapel on Wednesday.
