A FATAL FALLOn Tuesday an inquest was held at the Oakley Inn, before Deputy-Coroner Cook, to inquire into the cause of the death of Mr. Benjamin Birch, a plasterer, aged 65, who on November 17 fell from a scaffold.William Birch (son), and George Eads, who were working with the deceased, gave evidence, and were followed by Dr. H. Baker, who attributed death to pleurisy and peritonitis, consequent on a rupture of the liver, which was doubtless caused by a fall. The deceased had received every attention, and had been nursed most carefully. The jury returned a verdict of "Accidental death."
