Mr Charles Betts

The Death of Mr Charles Betts, of Harborough-road, on Wednesday, will be heard of with great regret by his many friends in Rushden. Mr Betts, a native of Knotting, was 79 years of age, and in another month would have attained the ripe old age of 80. Deceased had lived in Rushden fort about 55 years.

Mr and Mrs Betts celebrated their golden wedding three years ago. Mr Betts was one of the first members of the Boot and Shoe Operatives Union, and he was also one of the first members of the Rushden Co-operative Society. For his age, Mr Betts was a wonderfully energetic man, and he did not cease work until Dec. 24th last. Mr Betts had worked for his employers for about 20 years, and his fellow workmates at Messrs F Knight Ltd., ..............
