ObituaryMuch sympathy will be felt throughout the town with Mr. and Mrs. George Bayes, of Griffith-street, who have suffered sore bereavement by the death of their daughter Dorothy, aged 12 years, who passed away yesterday midday after a few weeks’ painful illness. She was a lovable little child, and will be missed not only by her parents but also by her schoolmates at Prospect House School, where she had but recently taken up her studies. The funeral will take place on Monday. 30th April 1915 Funeral of Miss Dorothy Bayes The funeral of the late Miss Dorothy Bayes, youngest daughter of Mr. George Bayes, of Rushden, sanitary inspector to the Wellingborough District Council, took place on Monday, when a very large gathering of relatives and friends paid their last tribute of respect to her memory by attending a special service at the cemetery, when the mortal remains were laid to rest. The committal service was conducted by the Rev. H. J. Horn, pastor of the Park-road Baptist Church. The coffin, of white enamel with electro-plate fittings, bore the inscription:- DOROTHY BAYES, The mourners were: Mr. and Mrs. George Bayes (father and mother), Mr. Will and Miss Bayes (brother and sister), Miss Vie and Mrs. Corby (sister and grandma), Mr. Ernest Bayes and Mrs. Tailby (uncle and aunt), Mrs. Linnitt and Mrs. Smart (aunts), Mrs. Pettit and Mrs. T. Corby (aunts). The Baptist Sunday school was represented by Mr. Herbert Lack and Mr. Fred Cowley. |
