Just occasionally one has the privilege to get to know and love someone very special. Mrs Lilian Anderson, Lily to her friends, was such a person.
She spent her life giving her time, talents and love to her family, friends and to Guiding and everyone who knew her feels sadness and a great sense of loss at her death.

She was a lovely Christian and a true Guide, always thinking of others before herself, and living her life according to the high ideals of a true Christian and Guider.
Lily had been involved in Guiding for many years as a Brownie, Guide, Guider, District Commissioner and for the last eight years as Division Commissioner for Higham Ferrers. She was a continual source of inspiration to us all and set high standards and values for the girls and Guiders in her care.
Throughout her illness she showed immense courage in the face of great pain, never complaining, and living a full life until the end. The high esteem in which she was held was shown by the hundreds of people who attended her funeral on Monday, 9th February.
She was a faithful member of St Mary's and with her husband Geoff regularly worshipped at llarn service. Our sympathies are extended to him and her family. Lily will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but the memory of her sunny smile will remain for ever.
