Funeral of Mrs. Helena Abbot
formerly of Rushden


The death took place at 8, Nene View, Wellingborough, on Thursday week, of Mrs. Helena Abbott, who was 82. She formerly lived in Rushden, where she was well-known, particularly in connection with the Independent Wesleyan Church.

Mr. Ebenezer Abbott, her husband, died fourteen years ago. Of the family there are left four daughters, Mrs. J. Chinchen, Harpenden, Mrs. J. Baines, Northampton, Mrs J. Sprake, Rushden, and Miss E. Abbott, Wellingborough and two sons, Mr. Charles Abbott, Wellingborough and Mr. Fred Abbott, Northampton. Mrs. Abbott lived with Miss Abbott and Mr. C. Abbott.

The funeral took place at Rushden Cemetery on Saturday, the Rev. C.J. Keeler officiating.

The mourners included Mr. C. Abbott, Mrs. J. Baines, Mr. F. Abbott, Mr. J. Sprake (sons and daughters) Mr. and Mrs. F. Briggs, Harrow (brother and sister-in-law), Mr. J. Baines, Mr. J. Sprake, Mr. J. Chinchen (sons-in-law), Mrs. H. Sanders (niece).
