Mrs. L. B. Ward

Wife of Mr. Francis Ward, of 1, Duck-street Rushden, Mrs. Laura Belinda Ward passed away suddenly at her home on Saturday afternoon. She was 65 years of age.

Mrs. Ward came to Rushden about 25 years ago from her native place in Worcestershire. Her husband conducts a leather-dressing business in Westfield-avenue, Higham Ferrers.

Besided Mr. Ward, two married daughters and a son serving in the Royal Army Pay Corps are left.

The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon, the Rector (the Rev. E. A. Green) conducting the service at the home before interment at the Rushden cemetery.

Mourners were: Mr. F. Ward (widower), Pte. Donald Ward, Royal Army Pay Corps (son), Captain H. B. Beloe and Mrs. Beloe (son-in-law and daughter), Mr. and Mrs. H. J. D. Hamp and Mrs. Hamp (son-in-law and daughter), Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Hamp (friends) and Mr. W. H. Ward (brother-in-law).

Floral tributes were inscribed: To our dearest mother, whose memory will forever remain in our hearts, from her beloved family. Dad, Vera, Joy and Don; To Mother dearest, so  beloved and missed, from Vera and Harry; To darling, beloved Mother, who will be missed so much, and forever in both our thoughts, from Joy and Jack; With much love and deepest sympathy from Bessie and Charles with deepest sympathy and love from Charlotte and Ethel; In kindest remembrance from Mary; Deepest sympathy from B. Gould; With deepest sympathy from Cliff; With loving sympathy from Marie and Doreen; Deepest sympathy from employees F. D. Ward Ltd.; From Mrs. E. Hamp and Mrs. Tysoe with deepest sympathy; In kind remembrance, Mr. and Mrs. E. Hamp and family.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs Whittington and Tomlin.
