A respected Rushden veteran, Mr. Thomas Wadsworth, aged eighty years, died at his home, 56, Crabb-street, early on Sunday morning, having been ill since September of last year.

A native of Mears Ashby, Mr Wadsworth moved to Higham Ferrers as a young man, and later to Rushden. He leaves a widow, Mrs. Emily Wadsworth (his second wife) and two sons, Messrs Edgar and Edward Wadsworth, whose motor engineering and garage business is well known.

The funeral took place on Tuesday a service being conducted at the Rushden cemetery chapel by the Rev. R. H. Conway, curate of St. Mary's Church. The family mourners were Mrs. Emily Wadsworth (widow), Mr. Edgar Wadsworth (son), Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wadsworth (son and daughter-in-law), Mrs. M. Thompson, Leicester (sister), Mr. and Mrs. S. Clarke (son-in-law and daughter), and Mr. Bernard Wadsworth (grandson).

Inscriptions on the wreaths were as follows: In loving memory of my dear Husband, from his affectionate Wife, Emily—We see the dawn; From Edgar and Ted, Annie, Ciss and Bernard—At rest; From Sister Minnie, nieces and nephews, Leicester, with deepest sympathy; From Annie and Nellie and Will —Peace, perfect peace; In loving remembrance, from Win and Mabel; In memory of Grampy, from Eppy and family, George and Sarah—Rest in peace; With kind remembrance, from Dorothy and Will, Stanwick; Remembrance Mr. and Mrs. W. A. E. Sherwood; With deepest sympathy, from neighbours and friends in Crabb-street.

Funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs. Whittington and Tomlin.
