Mr. W. M. Stringer, Rushden

A veteran of the South African war campaign, Mr. Walter Moore Stringer (85), of 11, Glassbrook Road, Rushden, died on Tuesday.

A native of Staughton, Mr. Stringer served for many years with the 1st Middlesex Regiment. He retired from gardening and boot and shoe work 15 years ago, but was quite active up to October.

Five daughters, seven grandchildren and one great-grand child are bereaved.
