Mr. Charles William Smith - 60 Years at Rushden

After about three months’ illness, Mr. Charles William Smith died at 3, Blinco Road, Rushden, on Saturday, at the age of 82.

Mr. Smith was born at Knotting Green and came to Rushden about 60 years ago. He lived for about 20 years in Factory Place, and spent the remainder of his life in Blinco Road.

Originally a boot worker, he later devoted his time to gardening, an occupation he carried on until his retirement. He was a member of the West End Club.

A widow, Mrs. Clara Elizabeth Smith, is bereaved. There are also two daughters, Miss Mary Smith and Mrs. Louisa Baxter of Chelveston, and two sons, Mr. Thomas Smith and Mr. Frank Smith.
