ObituaryWe deeply regret to record the death of Mrs Alice Sherwood, who passed away at 2, Kings-road, on Saturday evening, at the age of 42 years. The deceased lady was taken ill about six weeks ago with gastritis and congested liver, but apparently was making good progress until last Tuesday week, when she suffered a relapse, and becoming gradually weaker passed peacefully away on Saturday about 5.45p.m. She leaves a husband and two children to mourn their loss, and and much sympathy is felt with them in their bereavement. The funerl took place yesterday afternoon at the cemetery, the Rev. T James (Curate) officiating. The coffin, which was of polished elm with brass fittings, bore the inscription:- Alice Sherwood The mourners comprised: Mr John Sherwood (husband), Miss Frances Sherwood and Miss Winnie Sherwood (daughters), Mr J Barratt and Mrs L Cross (brother and sister), Mr James Robinson (brother) and Mrs J Barratt (sister-in-law), Mr John Robinson (brother) and Mrs E Robinson (sister-in-law), Mrs A Robinson and Mrs Frank Robinson (sisters-in-law), Mrs S Burton and Mrs F Sherwood (sisters-in-law), Mr and Mrs J Sherwood (nephew and niece), Mrs R Denton and Miss Alice Barratt (nieces). A number of beautiful wreaths were placed on the grave. Mr Sherwood and family desire to express their sincere thanks for the many expressions of sympathy they have received in their sore bereavement. |
