Miss Eliza Sargent

THE DEATH occurred on Monday of Miss Eliza Sargent, aged 85, daughter of the Mr. John Sargent, sen., who died in 1881, having been a well-known and much-respected inhabitant of Rushden, a member of the old Baptist Chapel and one of the early workers in the temperance cause of Rushden. Miss Sargent had been an invalid for the greater part of her life, and had lived for a number of years with, her niece, Mrs. A. Brooks, of 20, Station-road, Rushden. The funeral took place on Wednesday, the Rev. C. J. Keeler officiating. The mourners were Mr. A. Brooks (nephew), Mrs. J. Blunt (great-niece), Mrs. H. Cooper, Mrs Edgar Harris, Mrs. W. Pinkstone, and Mrs. J. Lilley (nieces), and Mr. J. Blunt. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Whittington and Tomlin.
