Local Obituary

Mr. J. R. Mepham, Rushden

In failing health for the last four years, Mr. John Richard Mepham, of 2, Pratt-road, Rushden passed away on Sunday at the age of 75 years. Bom in London, he spent, a great part of his life at Rushden, and for 35 years ran a well-known laundry business in the town. For several vears he was on the committee of the Athletic Club.

A widow, Mrs. C. Mepham, a daughter, Mrs. Loasby, and a son, Mr. B. Mepham, are left.

The funeral took place at Rushden on Wednesday, the Rev. R. MacPherson Heard, curate of St. Mary's, conducting a service at the home in the presence of the following: Mrs. Mepham (widow), Mr. A. Mepham (son), Mr. and Mrs. Loasby (son-in-law and daughter), Mr. A. Mepham (brother), Mrs. Price (sister-in-law), Miss D. Mepham, Mr. R. Loasby (grandchildren), Mrs. A. R. Mepham (daughter-in-law), Mrs. A. P. Mepham, Mrs. Burage (nieces) and Mr. Peacock, (friend).

Wyn, Daisy and Kath—At rest; In ever loving peace—With deepest sympathy from neighbours and friends at 99, 101, 103, 105 Portland-road; With deepest sympathy from Jack and  Kate; With deepest sympathy from Mr. and Mrs. Loasby, Twywell; With sincere sympathy from Mr. and Mrs. Boddington; With fond remembrance from Mr. and Mrs. Heeley and Joyce; In remembrance from Mr. and Mrs. Carr and family; In loving memory of our very old friend, from Mr. and Mrs. Flowers.

Messrs. Whittington and Tomlin were the undertakers.
