Funeral of Rushden Octogenarian
Died A Few Hours After Burial of Brother-In-Law
Celebrated Diamond Wedding Three Years Ago

Aged 82, the death occurred on Saturday evening, at 18, Crabb-street, of Mrs Elizabeth Linnitt, wife of Mr John Linnitt. The deceased's brother-in-law (Mr Alfred Linnitt) was buried only a few hours before Mrs Linnitt passed away. Mrs Linnitt, a member of the Rushden branch of the B.W.T.A.U. for many years, attended the Park-road Baptist Church when she was able. Besides the husband, three daughters are left to mourn their loss. Mr Samuel Skinner, of Bournemouth and formerly of Rushden, is the only surviving brother of the deceased.

Mr and Mrs J Linnitt celebrated their diamond wedding in October, 1925, when they received a letter of congratulations and good wishes from the King.

The funeral of Mrs Linnitt took place on Wednesday, the Rev. J A Sutherland officiating. A service was held in the Park-road Baptist Church. Mr J Lindsay Clipson A.R.C.O., played suitable items, and the hymns "Rock of Ages" and "Lead kindly Light" were sung. The mourners were Mr J Linnitt (husband), Mrs S J Partridge, Miss E Linnitt (daughters), Mr A Hanger (son-in-law), Mrs J F Mason (daughter), Mr J F Mason (son-in-law), Mrs J Skinner (sister-in-law), Mr S Skinner (brother), Mrs R Wood, Mrs C Hanger, Mr and Mrs F Payne, Mr and Mrs E Wright, Miss M Mason, Mr S J Bass (grandchildren), Mrs N Skinner, Mrs H Alderman (sisters-in-law), Mrs G Selwood, Mrs W Warner (nieces), Mrs A Linnitt (sister-in-law), Mrs E Ingram, Mrs T Bayes, Mrs G Foster, Mrs E Morris (nieces) and Mrs E Whittington (cousin).
