Mr Harry Knight
Boer War Veteran Dies

Mr Harry Knight, of Rushden, died at his home, 39 Kings Road, on Saturday. He was 80.

A Service man of the Boer War, Mr Knight was one of the oldest members of the Athletic Club. His great hobby was gardening. A retired boot operative, he was employed by the C.W.S. Boot Works for 27 years.

Mr and Mrs Knight celebrated their golden wedding over five years ago.

Mr Knight’s death followed an illness of three months. The widow, two sons and a daughter—Mr W Knight and Mr L Knight, of Rushden, and Mrs A E Knight, of Higham Ferrers—are bereaved. There are also five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday.


Note: Harry and Phoebe Knight are buried in Rushden Cemetery, either side of their daughter Mabel Rosetta (died 1923), in Graves E 910-912.
