Mr. J. Holyoak – Funeral at Rushden

The funeral took place at Rushden on Tuesday of Mr. J. Holyoak, who died on Friday at 3, Park Avenue, Raunds, the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. E. Knight.

Mr. Holyoak was aged 87, and until the death of his wife about five years ago had lived at Rushden, where, during the first world war, he served as a special constable. In his younger days he was a member of Rushden St. Peter’s Church choir, and he attended the church until the time he left the town.

In addition to his daughter, Mr. Holyoak leaves six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral service at St. Peter’s Church was conducted by the Vicar, the Rev. R. McPherson Heard.

Principal mourners were: Mrs. A. E. Knight and Mr. R. A. Knight (daughter and grandson), Mr. W. Packwood and Mrs. M. Whitlock (son-in-law and niece), Mrs. H. Freeman, Mrs. D. Wilmott, Mrs. R. A. Wright and Miss Betty Packwood (grand-daughters), Mr. W. Wilmott and Mrs. Webb (grandson and friend).
