Rushden Echo and Argus 24th March 1944
Mrs. C. Bailey

Mrs. C. Bailey, of 30, Wellingborough-road, Rushden, died suddenly at home on Thursday morning. She had been in ill health for several years and had been laid up for the past fortnight following a fall in which she upset a kettle and was scalded.

Mrs. Bailey, 64 years of age, was a native of Leicester. She had lived in Rushden for 30 years and was attached to St. Peter's Church and the Mothers' Union. Her husband died in the last war.

Two sons, one serving on a minesweeper in the Royal Navy, two daughters and one grandchild are bereaved.

The funeral service will take place on Saturday at St. Peter's Church.

War Reserve E. Smith reported the death to the East Northants Coroner, who found that an inquest would not be necessary.
