| Rushden Inventor—Mr. H. J. Newman, of 73 Spencer-road, Rushden, has invented a method of repairing roads, and on the advice of the Ministry of Road Transport, he has patented the method. He claims that the invention would make the roadway suitable for the heaviest traffic, and is of a permanent nature. It will prevent wear and tear, vibration, road noises, potholes, and waving of the road surface, and can be constructed very cheaply. Mr. Newman, who is a boot operative at Messrs. Tebbutt and Hall Bros., Raunds, and cycles to and from the factory and Rushden, has offered to the Thrapston Rural District Council the use of his patent free of royalties, in order that the Council may give it a test on the top Stanwick road, the Council to bear the cost of the work and materials. The offer has been referred to the Surveyor to report on. |
