A pretty wedding took place at the Park-road Baptist Church, Rushden, on Saturday, March 4th, the contracting parties being Miss Florence Stirman, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jabal Stirman, of Roberts-street, Rushden, and Mr. William Neal, second son of Mr. George Neal, of High-street, Riseley. The Rev. C. J. Keeler officiated. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. A. Stapleton, Castle Ashby, was prettily attired in a dress of cream alpaca, trimmed with cream insertion and lace, with white satin and stoles. She wore a white silk hat, trimmed with orange blossom, and carried a bouquet of tulips and lilies, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids, were Miss Hilda Neal, Luton, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Hilda Reed, Irthlingborough, cousin of the bridegroom; they wore navy blue costumes, with blue silk hats to match. Mr. W. Stirman, brother of the bride, carried out the duties of best man. The bridegroom, who is in the Bedfordshire Yeomanry, is now stationed at Witham, Essex. He was formerly employed as assistant checker at the Midland Station at Rushden.
A reception was afterwards held at the bride’s home.
Mr. and Mrs. Neal were the recipients of many presents, including cheques from her father and friends.
