St Peter’s Church, Rushden, was on Monday the scene of the wedding of Miss Dorothy Gertrude Barringer, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H B Barringer, of 88 Washbrook-road, Rushden, and Mr George Harry Moore, only son of Mr and Mrs H G Moore, of Berrill-street, Irchester. The Rev P B Spriggs officiated.
The bride was given away by her father and wore a white satin dress with veil, and satin shoes to match. Her bouquet was of red carnations, and she wore a pearl necklet, and carried a pearl handbag (a gift of her grandfather). She was attended by Miss Vera Barringer (sister), who was attired in pale green, and Miss Eileen Moore (sister of the bridegroom), who was in pink. Both bridesmaids carried pink carnations and wore necklaces given by the bridegroom. Mr Hyford, of Finedon, was the best man, and Mr W P Jolley the organist.
After the reception at the bride’s home, Mr and Mrs Moore left for a honeymoon at Torquay, the bride wearing a pale blue dress and beige coat with shoes to match. They will afterwards reside at Doddington-road, Wellingborough.
Motors for the wedding were supplied by Mr. H. Scroxton.
Among many presents were cutlery from the staff and a cheque from the directors of Messrs. William Green and Son, at whose office the bride has be employed for some years, and a clock from the bride's fellow teachers at St Peter’s Sunday School, Mr. Moore is employed in the L.M.S. Control Office at Wellingborough.
