| The marriage took place at St. Mary’s Church yesterday, by the Rev. W. H. Pelham, of Miss Winifred Phyllis Wilmott, the eldest daughter of Councillor T. Wilmott, builder and contractor, of Woodville, Newton-road, Rushden, and Mr. Geo. Leigh Miller, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Miller, of Roseleigh, Raunds. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a grey costume and hat to match trimmed with coral pink roses. She carried a bouquet of roses, lilies, lilies of the valley and maidenhair fern. Two bridesmaids were in attendance – Misses Doris May and Beatrice Amelia Wilmott (sisters of the bride), attired in navy blue costumes and white hats. Each carried a bouquet of lilies, lilies of the valley, pink sweet peas, and maidenhair fern. Mr. Oliver D. Hall (friend of the bridegroom) was best man. Subsequent to the ceremony a reception was held at bride’s home, and later in the day Mr. and Mrs. Miller left for London, where the honeymoon is being spent. For travelling the bride wore a blue costume with hat to match. The bridegroom has just been appointed to the teaching staff of the Northants Boot and Shoe Technical Classes, and is well-known amongst the students. A large number of useful and handsome presents were received. |
