Rushden Echo, January 18th 1924, transcribed by Kay Collins
Livingstone – Allen

At St Mary’s Church, Rushden, on Saturday the wedding took place of Miss Frances Ivy Allen, third daughter of Mr and Mrs W Allen, of 73 Cromwell-road, Rushden, to Mr Sydney Valentine Livingstone, of Spring-gardens, Higham Ferrers. Given away by her father, the bride was prettily dressed in a brown satin dress, with hat to match, and she carried a bouquet of white narcissi, white chrysanthemums, and red carnations. The bride also wore a gold bangle, which with the bouquet, was a gift of the bridegroom. The bride was attended by her sisters, Miss Lillian May Allen and Miss Doris Hilda Allen, as bridesmaids, wearing blue satin dresses with hats to match. Each carried a bouquet of white narcissi, chrysanthemums, and pink carnations, the gift of the bridegroom. The Rev. P E Robson conducted the service. Mr Herbert Edward Allen (brother of the bride) carried out the best man’s duties. A reception was held at the bride’s home.

Carriages for the wedding were supplied by Mr A Abbott.
