| The marriage of Seaman L. H. Litchfield, youngest son of Mr. George Litchfield, of Walgrave, to Miss Alice Sparks, eldest daughter of Mr. Chas. Sparks, of Rushden, took place by special licence on Saturday at St. Peter’s Church, Rushden. The Rev. P. J. Richards officiated. The bride (who was given away by her father) wore a white silk dress and hand-embroidered veil, which was lent for the occasion. She carried a shower bouquet of lilies of the valley, white carnations and fern, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Maemorron (sister of the bride), who wore a dress of white voile with a lace hat trimmed with pink, and Miss Ansell (niece of the bridegroom), who wore a dress of white silk, with a pale mauve hat. Both carried bouquets of pink carnations and white lilies, and wore gold brooches (the gifts of the bridegroom). Mr. Walter Litchfield, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best-man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the bride’s home. The presents were numerous. |
