Mr. and Mrs. John Cheney Linnitt

GOLDEN WEDDING – Yesterday Mr. and Mrs. John Cheney Linnitt, of 18, Crabb-street, celebrated the 50th anniversary of their wedding, when about 30 relatives and friends assembled in the B.W.T.A. Hall to give expression to their felicitations. Both Mr. and Mrs. Linnitt are natives of Rushden, the former being the eldest son of the late Mr. John Linnitt, and the latter the third daughter of the late Mr. Eli Skinner. They were married at St. Mary’s Church in 1865, and have resided in their present house for 36 years. When they first married they took the house in Little-street now occupied by Mrs. James Bull, and after being there two years they removed to Ebenezer-terrace where they lived for 12 years. Both Mr. and Mrs. Linnitt are in their 70th year, and they have had seven daughters, of whom four are living. Three of the daughters are married, viz., Mrs. A. Hanger, Mrs. A. Bass, and Mrs. J. Mason. Miss Ellen Linnitt resides with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Linnitt have six grandchildren.
