Rushden Echo & Argus, 27th July 1934, transcribed by Kay Collins
Lake — Hart

Police Constable Eric Lake, a son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Lake, of 21, High-street South, Rushden, who is now stationed at Dunstable, was married at St. Lawrence's Church, Wymington, on Saturday to Miss Martha Winifred Hart, daughter of Mrs. S. J. Hart, of High-street, Wymington, and the late Mr. F. S. Hart.

The service was conducted by the Rector (the Rev. J. M. T. Rogers).

The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. Leonard F. Hart, and wore a white satin dress, a veil and coronet of blossom. Her bouquet was of white lilies, and she had a necklet of pearls.

The two bridesmaids were Miss Mary J. Hart (bride's sister) and Miss Irene Ayres, and they wore blue suede crepe dresses with silver headdresses to match. They carried shower bouquets of pink carnations, and wore silver diamante bracelets.

Mr. Edgar Lake was best man.

A reception was held in the Wesleyan Schoolroom, the St. Cecilia Players supplying the music. The honeymoon will be spent in September, and Mr. and Mrs. Lake went straight to Dunstable, where they are residing at 143, Chilton-road.

Among the presents was a mirror from the bride's friends at the C.W.S. factory, Rushden.

Mr. H. Scroxton, of Rushden, supplied the motors.
