Will Serve in Italy - Rushden Lady Volunteers for Canteen Work

Miss Marjorie Knight, of "The White House," Rushden, has volunteered for overseas service with the W.V.S. and commences a week’s training in London today.

Miss Knight will shortly go out to Italy and later Germany, serving with a mobile canteen and helping with welfare work in the leave clubs. The period of service extends over 12 months, and 14 days local leave is given in that time.

A member of the Rushden W.V.S. since the beginning of the war, Miss Knight volunteered to go abroad two months ago. She has worked in the Y.M.C.A. canteen on Monday evenings and has been in charge of the clerical work at the First Aid Post since the outbreak of war.
