Rushden Echo & Argus, 24th March 1944, transcribed by Kay Collins
Mr and Mrs W Keller

Sunday was the golden wedding anniversary of Mr William Henry Keller, the well-known Rushden greengrocer and fruiterer, and his wife, who were married on Easter Monday 1894, at Bozeat Parish Church, by the Vicar, The Rev W D Seargeaunt.

Mr & Mrs KellerMr Keller came from Wellingborough, and his bride (nee Blanche Drage) from Bozeat. The couple resided at Wellingborough for 10 years, and the remainder of their married life has been spent in Rushden—the last four years in "Rose Cottage," Shirley-road.

In the greengrocery business since he was a lad, Mr Keller retains the energy, the big voice, the cheery manner and the characteristic style of apparel that have long distinguished him. He believes in counting his blessings, and he never hesitates to testify that conversion to teetotal habits has been a wonderful factor in his life. He has kept his High-street business since 1915, and with his wife had attended the Park-road Methodist Church for many years.

There are three children, Mr William Keller, of Rushden, Mrs H Adnitt, of Irthlingborough, and Mr Herbert Keller, of Wolverton, Bucks, and five grandchildren. Dvr. Hugh Keller, a prisoner of war in Italy, Petty Officer O A Keller in the Navy, Pte Derek Adnitt, in the Royal Corps of Signals, and two of school age.

The anniversary celebrations were confined to a tea-party at “Rose Cottage” on Saturday.
