A sailor was a bridegroom at St. Peter's, Rushden, on Saturday, when Miss E. Freda M. Brown was married to Able-Seaman Samuel Percy Head. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs J. W. Brown, of 12, Purvis-road, Rushden, and the bridegroom is the second son of Mrs. and the late Mr. H. Head, of 9, Brook-street, Raunds.
The bride, given away by her father, was dressed in white crepe silk with train, and had an orange blossom headdress with veil. She carried pink carnations and wore pearls.
 In attendance was Miss Joyce Wills, of Rushden, who had a pale blue ankle-length taffeta dress with silver halo headdress and shoes. Her gloves matched. As a bouquet she carried pink tulips, and she wore a gift of the bridegroom, a gold crucifix.
The ceremony was conducted by the Vicar, the Rev. Edwin Hirst, and Mr. J Lindsay Clipson, A.R.C.O., was at the organ.
The best man was Mr. Eric Hasdell, of Northampton, a naval wireless operator.
After the wedding a reception was held at the bride's home. When the couple left for their honeymoon the bride was wearing a three-piece suit in check, with brown hat, gloves and shoes.
The bride is a member of the St. John Nursing Sisters.
Messrs. Wadsworth Bros., of Rushden, supplied the cars.
