Rushden Echo & Argus, 29th September 1944
Hallam – Lyman

The wedding of Miss Una Maud Lyman, a N.A.A.F.I. manageress, and Sergt. Edward Cecil Hallam, R.A.F., took place at St. Mary’s Church, Rushden, on Thursday.

The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Lyman, of 10 Newton-road, Rushden, and the groom is the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. F. Hallam, of Grantham.

In a dusty pink morocain dress with floral cap and veil, wine accessories and a necklet (gift of the bridegroom), the bride was given away by her father. Her bouquet was of dark red roses.

Misses Winifred and Helen Lyman (sisters of the bride) were the bridesmaids and wore blue cloque dresses with headdresses to match and gold dress rings. Their bouquets were of pink carnations.

Cpl. A. Kelland, R.A.F., was the best man, and the ceremony was conducted by the Rev. E. A. Green and Padre Evans, of the R.A.F.  The organist was Mr. A. Clarke, A.R.C.O., and his selections included “I’ll Walk Beside You.” The hymns were “Lead us, Heavenly Father” and “O Perfect Love.”

A reception was held in the B.W.T.A.U. Hall, and the wedding cake was supplied by friends.

The honeymoon is being spent at Doncaster.
