| The marriage took place at All Saints', Wellingborough, yesterday week, of Miss Gertrude Wright, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Wright, Jesmond House, Midland-road, Wellingborough, to Mr. Frederick Charles Haddon, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Haddon, of 9, Windmill-road, Rushden. Canon Terry officiated. The bride's father is the district Traffic Controller of the Midland Railway, whilst the bridegroom is well known in Rushden and district as a cricketer and billiard player, also in Higham Ferrers as head of the office staff of Messrs Armitage and Robinson. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked winsome in white crepe de chine with hand embroidered fall and wreath of orange blossom, and carried a sheaf of lilies. The bridesmaids were Miss Lizzie Haddon (sister of the bridegroom), Miss Mabel Knight (in blue silk with blue falls and wreaths of pink roses), Miss Bertha Wright (cousin of the bride) and Miss W. Steadman, in grey silk and black hats. Each carried a bouquet of pink sweet peas, and wore gold brooches, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. Martin O'Connor was best man. At the close of the ceremony a largely attended reception was held at Victoria Hall, Wellingborough, and later the newly-wedded pair left for Hastings, the bride's travelling attire being a navy costume with brown picture hat.
Both bride and bridegroom received many handsome presents. Mr. Haddon received a beautiful barometer from the staff and employees of Messrs. Armitage and Robinson.
