Rushden Echo, 9th April 1915, transcribed by Gill Hollis
Gunn – Ward

The marriage took place on Saturday at St. Mary’s Church, Rushden, of Miss Amy Ward, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ward, of Park-place, Rushden, and Mr. John Thomas Gunn, youngest son of Mrs. Manning Gunn, of Denford. The Rev. P. E. Robson was the officiating minister. The bride looked very neat in a costume of navy blue with a saxe-blue hat. She was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr. William Parker. The bridesmaids, Misses Mena and Violet Ward, sisters of the bride, wore dresses of white voile, and white silk hats, and carried white Prayer Books, the gifts of the bridegroom. The duties of best man were ably discharged by Mr. Sidney Dunkley. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride. The happy couple will reside at Thrapston. Mr. and Mrs. Gunn were the recipients of many handsome and useful presents. Pte. A. Ward, brother of the bride, who was wounded at the battle of Neuve-Chapelle, arrived home in time for the wedding.
