An Old Soldier named Gilbert, of Cromwell-road, who served in two campaigns, applied to Mr. G. H. Parkin asking him to do something on his behalf, as he was unable to work. Mr. Gilbert served about twelve years in the forces, and contracted fever whilst on service, and was unable to re-enlist.
Mr. Parkin communicated with Sir F. A. Channing, and the War Office have granted a pension of 8d. a day.
