Khaki Wedding
On Saturday afternoon at the Congregational Church, Rushden, the marriage took place of Miss Hilda Beeby, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Beeby, 65 Little-street, Rushden, to Private F. Freeman, 6th Northants, eldest son of Mrs. H. Freeman, of 6 Orchard-place, Rushden. The bride was given away by her father. She was attired in a white silk dress, and wore a bridal veil and orange blossom. The bridesmaids were Miss Ivy Beeby (sister of the bride), Miss F. Franklin, Miss E. Goodman and Miss M. Dorks (friends). Miss Ivy Beeby and Miss Franklin wore cream dresses and trimmed hats to match, while Miss Goodman and Miss Dorks were attired in white, with hats to match. The bride carried a bouquet of lilies and carnations, the gift of the bridegroom, and she and her sister wore gold brooches, also the gifts of the bridegroom. Mr. Frank Letts (friend) acted as best man. The Rev. E. F. Walker officiated, and the service was fully choral. After the ceremony a reception was held in the schoolroom, a large number of friends being present. There were many useful and handsome presents, including a full tea service from the Sunday school teachers of the Congregational Church, Rushden. The bridegroom came home last Wednesday week from the western front, where he has been fighting for ten months, this being his first leave. He leaves for the front to-day.
