WeddingMiss Nesta Alice Wright, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Wright, of "Fairfield," Newton-road, Rushden, was married on Monday to Lance-corporal Charles Drabble, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Drabble, of "Joclyn," Wymington-road, Rushden. The ceremony, which was conducted by the Rev. T. W. Gill, took place at the Park-road Baptist Church, the church being decorated with tulips, anemones and daffodils.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a beautiful white lace gown, cut on a semi-fitting style, with a long train. Her white hem-stitched veil was held in position by a wreath of silver orchids, and her bouquet consisted oil red rosebuds and Harissi lilies, her only jewellery being a solitaire diamond engagement ring. The attendant was Miss Jean Dorothy Wright (bride's sister), who wore a turquoise blue lace gown, with a bolero to match. A silver Juliet cap, trimmed with anemones was also worn, and she carried a posy of anemones and wore a sapphire ring, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. Ronald Tew was best man.
The hymns "Lead us Heavenly Father" and "O Perfect Love" were sung.
After a reception at the bride's home, Mr. and Mrs. Drabble left for their honeymoon, which was spent at Leicester. The bride's travelling costume was a grey-blue two-piece, the coat having dyed summer fox reveres, with a black pill-box hat trimmed with flowers and veiling, and black accessories.
A number of beautiful presents were received.
Messrs. Wadsworth Bros., Rushden, supplied the cars.
