The wedding of Miss Alice Burgess, third daughter of Mr and Mrs R Burgess of 20, Bedford Road, Rushden and Mr C Louis Dowling, eldest son of Mr and Mrs F Dowling, of Higham Ferrers, was solemnized in the Parish Church, Rushden, on Sunday. The Rev E W Suart officiated.
The bride was dressed in a blue costume with hat to match, and was accompanied by one bridesmaid, Miss M Dowling, who was attired in an old-rose coloured costume, with black hat.
Mr Will Walker carried out the duties of best man.
Friends assembled at the residence of newly married couple on Sunday night, when a pleasant time was spent. On Monday, Mr and Mrs Louis Dowling held a party at their house, when the guests enjoyed themselves to the utmost. Numerous handsome and useful presents were received.
