The Rushden Echo and Argus, 23rd May, 1930, transcribed by Gill Hollis

Mr & Mrs James Crouch - Golden Wedding

One of the best known and respected couples in Rushden, Mr. and Mrs. James Crouch, of Crabb-street, celebrated their golden wedding on Saturday.

They were natives of Olney and were married in the Parish Church there on May 17 (Whitsuntide), 1870.  Five years later they came to Rushden to live and have been residents of the town for the whole 45 years since then.

 Mr & Mrs James Crouch

Mr. and Mrs. Crouch and their family have been associated with the Park-road Wesleyan Church for many years.  They have very many friends in the town and district.  Mr. Crouch worked at the C.W.S. Boot Factory, Rushden until last July, when he retired.  He reached his 71st birthday anniversary last March and Mrs. Crouch will be 71 to-morrow.  Their family comprises two sons, and three daughters.  There are also twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A family party was held on Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Crouch, to celebrate the great occasion.  Tea was served in the large garden and a happy time was spent.
