A Mason’s Marriage
Interesting Ceremony at Rushden Church

A quiet wedding though one of much interest, was solemnised at St. Mary’s Church, Rushden, on Monday afternoon when Miss Elsie Brawn, daughter of the late Mr. John Brawn and of Mrs. Brawn, Park Cottage, Park Road, Rushden, was made the wife of Mr. James William Corby of Wellingborough, the esteemed secretary of the Wentworth Lodge of Freemasons.

In the presence of numerous relatives and friends, the ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Percy Robson M.A. The bride, who wore a gown of Champagne-coloured crepe-de-chine with hat to match and carried a sheaf of malmaisons and white heather, was attended by Miss Evelyn Marriott. Miss Marriott’s dress was of pink georgette, embroidered in blue with a black hat and she carried a posy of pink carnations. Mr. E.A. Young (Wellingborough) was the best man and the bride was given away by Mr. John Redburne.

A reception was held in Park Cottage and later Mr. and Mrs. Corby motored to Bedford en route for the South Coast.
