The event was a double wedding, the bride’s younger sister being married at the same time to Mr William Rees, second son of Mr and Mrs T Rees, Pulsford, Chester. The brides, who were given away by their father and their uncle (Mr A McLucas), were dress alike in pretty white silk crepe de chine, bodice trimmed with lace and pearls, and over skirts of silk shadow lace, caught up at side with spray of orange blossom, and belts of silk ribbon. They wore handsome tulle veils and wreaths of orange blossom, and carried bouquets of roses and asparagus fern with white ribbon streamers, gifts of Mrs Geck.

They were attended by four bridesmaids. The two chiefs, Misses Olive and Ivy McLucas, wore white silk dresses trimmed with lace. The second bridesmaids were Miss Matilda McLucas and Miss Gwendoline Hook; the former wore a white silk dress trimmed with lace, and the other a pretty white embroidered dress. All carried bouquets of roses and ferns with streamers (also the gifts of Mrs Geck).

After the ceremony the party motored to the residence of the Brides’ parents, where the guests were entertained at the wedding breakfast. The presents were numerous and costly.
