The Rushden Echo and Argus, 25th November, 1932, transcribed by Gill Hollis
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Clark

Rushden Couple’s Golden Wedding

A Scattered Family

On Tuesday this week Mr. and Mrs. Walter Clark, of 15, King’s-road, Rushden, celebrated their golden wedding, having been married at Winwick, Hunts., on November 22nd, fifty years ago.

A remarkable point of interest is that Mrs. Clark’s mother is still living, and is 93 years of age.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Clark come of Huntingdonshire families, Mr. Clark being a native of Catworth, and his wife comes from Old Weston.  They have resided in Rushden for some years past.  Mr. Clark is 72 years of age, and his wife is his junior by a few months.  A family party celebrated the event on Tuesday, two daughters and one son, with other relatives and friends being present.  In addition, Mr. and Mrs. Clark have a daughter in South Africa and a son in America.

A hand-sewn bootmaker by trade, Mr. Clark still does occasional work.
