A wedding of considerable interest was solemnised at the High-street Independent Wesleyan Church, Rushden yesterday week, when Miss Frances D. L. Ainge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Ainge, of 61 Grove-road, Rushden, was married to Mr. Harry C. Bryant, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Bryant, of 51, Spencer-road, Rushden.
The Rev. C. J. Keeler (pastor), conducted the ceremony, and Mr. W. Bryant (brother of the bride-groom), carried out the duties of best man.
Given away by her father, the bride was charmingly attired in a white georgette dress, a bridal veil and orange blossom with shoes and stockings to match. Her bouquet was of dark red roses. Two bridesmaids were in attendance, the Misses Eva and Phyllis Bryant (sisters of the bridegroom). Miss Eva Bryant was attired in a dress of apple green georgette and Miss Phyllis Bryant in a dress of sun-rising georgette. Both wore black picture hats underlined to tone with the dresses. They carried bouquets of bronze roses. A reception was held at the bride’s home and afterwards the happy couple left for Brighton on their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a grey tweed costume and black hat. Many presents have been received by Mr and Mrs H C Bryant, including a coal scuttle from the bride’s fellow workers at Messrs. Walter Sargent and Co., Crabb-street, Rushden.
A gesture of thoughtfulness was shown by the bride and bridesmaids, who are sending their bouquets to a cousin at Mundesley Sanatorium.
