Sergt. P. W. Bridgment, Northants Regiment, second son of Pte. and Mrs. F. Bridgment, of 101, Glassbrook-road, Rushden, was married on Friday last at St. Mary’s Church, Rushden, to Miss Edith Bird, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Bird, of 84, Wellingborough-road, Rushden.  The Rev. P. Robson (Rector) officiated.  The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in white Jap silk and bridal veil, kindly lent by her cousin, Mrs. F. Farrington, and she carried a shower bouquet of white roses and carnations, the gift of the bridegroom.  She was attended by two bridesmaids, viz., Miss Olive Bird (bride’s sister) and Miss Elsie Bridgment (sister of the bridegroom), who were attired in saxe blue coat dresses and black net hats, and who also wore gold brooches, the latter being the gifts of the bridegroom.  The duties of best man were carried out by Pte. W. Jackson, Canadian Regiment, who was home on leave from France.  Appropriate wedding music was rendered by Mr. J. E. Smith, organist.  A reception was held at the bride’s home, and about 40 guests assembled.  Numerous and costly presents were received.  The bridegroom, who enlisted in September, 1914, has served three years in France.
