Frederick Allen Beale
Apprenticeship

Apprenticeship Indenture dated 30th July 1930, between Joseph Allen Beale of 14 Gordon Terrace, Higham Road, Rushden, a contractors' manager, Frederick Allen Beale (his son), and John Wesley Lloyd, of Newton Road, municipal engineer.

For the sum of fifty pounds, Joseph Beale covenants to pay J W Lloyd, for his son Frederick Beale to be a pupil engineer, for three years.

"The Pupil of his own free will and with the consent of the Father bind himself Pupil to the Engineer for the said term truly earnestly and diligently to serve the Engineer at all times during the said term as a faithful Pupil ought to do.

The Father covenants with the Engineer "That the Pupil will well and faithfully and diligently serve the Engineer as his Pupil in the profession of a Municipal Engineer and Surveyor during the said term of three years and that the Pupil shall not at any time cancel injure obliterate spoil waste embezzel spend or make away with any of the Books Papers Writings Moneys Stamps Plans or other property of the Engineer or the Municpal Authority which he may for the time being be serving ............
