| The marriage took place at St. Mary’s Church, Rushden, on Friday last of Lance-Corpl. J. H. Bamford, ? Field Ambulance, R.A.M.C. and Miss Harriett Jackson youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Jackson of 7 Winchester-road, Rushden. The bride, who was given away by her father, was dressed in white crepe-de-chine silk, with bridal veil and orange blossom. The bridesmaids were Miss Ethel Jackson (her sister), who was dressed in mauve crepe-de-chine silk, with black picture hat; Miss Florrie Whitworth and Miss Maud Roberts (friends of the bride), who wore Shantung silk dresses and black picture hats. Two little attendants on the bride were Miss Audrey Deane (niece of the bride) and Master Oswald Roberts (nephew of the bridegroom). Each bridesmaid and attendant carried a Prayer Book, the gift of the bridegroom. The gift of the bride to the bridegroom was a gold signet ring, and the bridegroom gave the bride a gold cross. Many handsome presents were received. The honeymoon is being spent at Oxford. |
